I’ve been listening to a lot of Luciano Berio lately.
Any good biographical books out there? Any recommendations?
Hi,
I don’t think there’s a major biography of Berio as of now, but you can check out Remembering the Future, by Berio. Although it is not an autobiography, he talks about composition commenting on other composers or theorists like Adorno, Shenker, and others.
You can also read Luciano Berio: Two Interviews In this two interviews with Rossana Dalmonte and Balint Andra Varga, he talks about his views and ideas about composition and shares insight about his compositional process.
There’s also an e-book that you can get from Amazon, called Contemporary Authors, which includes a short biography of Berio.
Hope this helps, and lets hope for a good Berio biography sometime soon.
