ParticipantWell, I hope you do. We definitely need more people around here.
Where are you from?

ParticipantHow is that going and what exactly are you working on?
Concerto for a soloist, orchestra, chamber concerto?
fontadoni
ParticipantYes, I can see that. Hope you stick around!
fontadoni

ParticipantHey Casey. It’s been a while since I’ve been around here. Are you still around?
fontadoni

ParticipantHmmm, that’s a good question.
I’ll try to see what I can find about it.
fontadoni
ParticipantYeah. I also enjoy some Gorecki. I wonder what he’s doing now?
fontadoni
ParticipantCool, a poll! I wish we could get more people to post in here.
I would hope there’s new music coming our way! But who knows.
fontadoni
ParticipantWow, that is a tough question. In any genre?
I think we are too close to tell. Only after many years one can say if a given composer has been influential or important in music history.
However I can tell you who I respect:
In classical music I admire Pierre Boulez not only as a composer, but also for what he represents and for what he has done for contemporary music. Although he has not written enough music and I think this will affect his place in music history.
It’s just my opinion.
In popular music, I would have to think about it…
(I think it would be unfair to only mention one composer).
How about you, Who do you think is the greatest living composer?
fontadoni
ParticipantWell, that’s all it takes, being open minded. I think a lot of people just never give that kind of music a chance.
Palestrina is great. I like Dufay too. Amazing!

ParticipantI live in Massachusetts, about 3 and a half hours from NY City.
NY is definitely a great city. Lots of music stuff going on. I’m sure you’ll have a great time.
I don’t think I could live there though, I think it’s great, but there’s just too many people there. Too fast and crazy for me.
